Miami's uniqueness is attributed to some of its vibrant communities, and culture, which make it stand out like no place else
There’s a lot that can be said about Miami and how unique and special it is. The city is home to some of the most incredible people and places that make it as unique and as colorful as it is.
There are many, many things that make this City so amazing, here are a few that are especially worth mentioning:
1. It’s the only US city founded by a woman
It may come as a surprise to many, but Miami is the only city in the US that has been founded by a woman. Julia Tuttle, also referred to as the Mother of Miami, is often forgotten despite the incredible work she did to develop and revitalize what is one of America’s biggest metropolitans.
It was her work that helped the city flourish as much as it did, requesting help from the state of Florida to develop the swampy marshes that existed in place of the glorious metropolitan that we know today.
She gave land, invested time and money, and brought together people to develop the city into a fully-functional, state-of-the-art city.
2. A ton of history and culture
Miami is one of the most historically rich cities in the US as well. It’s home to some incredible communities, as well as historical sites such as hotels and nightclubs, Venetian pools (in Coral Gables), the St. Bernard de Clairvaux Episcopal Church, and all kinds of incredible museums, exhibits and displays. From the World Erotic Art Museum to the The Pérez Art Museum and many, many more.
3. Nowhere else is the food scene this rich
Miami has some of the most mouthwatering cuisines you’ll ever have, offering a variety like no other. The gastronomical delights Miami offers are like no other, with foods from multiple countries and regions, and some iconic cuisines like soul food, Cuban food, Mexican food, and all kinds of seafood including stone crabs and all kinds of desserts. There are all kinds of unique dining experiences and a wide variety for you to try.
4. Our beaches are world famous
Miami’s beaches are unparalleled. Not only do we have an incredible coastline, our beaches are also known for their incredible activities, development, and their raw, natural beauty.
Clear waters, gorgeous white sand, and incredible weather all year round make for the perfect combination that makes Miami’s beaches the ultimate vacation destination. Here are some of the most gorgeous beaches in all of Miami, and worth a visit if you haven’t been already.
5. Miami’s architecture is out of this world
The cherry on top of the cake is Miami’s amazing architecture. The city is divided into various architectural districts including the Design District, the Art Deco District which has the largest concentration of art deco buildings in the world, and so many amazing standalone buildings that are nothing short of works of art.
