These are most awaited Miami restaurants opening in 2023
South Florida's long-overlooked culinary sector has seen explosive growth over the past year, with scores of new establishments opening throughout the tri-county area. These include eateries with innovative cuisines by genius chefs bringing their unique recipes and cultures to Miami. 2023 will see Miami restaurants featuring everything from authentic Japanese cuisine to creative cocktails and tantalizing tapas.

Lucky Cat
Lucky Cat, famed British chef Gordon Ramsay’s venture in The 305, will open to the public soon. Miami locals and visitors finally get a chance to try the celebrity chef’s creations in their own city. The first Lucky Cat debuted in London's Mayfair neighborhood in 2019, while its U.S. branch can be found in the South of Fifth district. The restaurant's decor is reminiscent of 1930s drinking bars in Tokyo, while the menu draws inspiration from all over Asia.
Sra. Martinez
Michelle Bernstein, whose Sra. Martinez eatery in Miami's Design District had to close in 2012, revealed earlier this year on Instagram that it will be reopening. The small but bustling establishment was adored by its patrons for its colorful atmosphere, inventive tapas, and excellent cocktails by Julio Cabrera. Bernstein plans on bringing her Spanish-Mediterranean tapas back to Coral Gables with a 2023 twist.
Rao’s
One of the most popular (and hardest to get into) red-sauce restaurants in New York City is expanding to Miami Beach. Rao's, a Miami restaurants choice with a 125-year history and a stellar reputation, has announced that it will move into the Loews Miami Beach Hotel this year.
Double Knot
Miami will soon be home to the newest venture from chef Michael Schulson of Philadelphia. Double Knot will expand to NW Second Avenue, where it will replace Wynwood Kitchen & Bar. Visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese fares like sushi, sashimi, and robata, as well as unique dishes like a chef's tasting menu with a generous variety of in-house mochi.
News Café
In 1989, Mark Soyka and Tony Goldman founded the News Café non the corner of Ocean Drive and Eighth Street, contributing to a cultural revival in South Beach. The South Beach hangout suddenly shut down in January 2021, but it is now reopening four months later in its original spot: the ground floor of the Tony Hotel South Beach.
