The best part about Miami is undoubtedly how exciting and electric it is. There's always something to do, always somewhere to be, sights to see, and food to eat. Whether you live here or you travel to Miami all the time, there are some must-see places and Summer ideas to take part in all around town.

Head on over to at least some of these gorgeous locations and destinations all around Miami and make it the trip of a lifetime with these unique Summer ideas:

Bayside Marketplace

The Bayside Marketplace is a festival marketplace that features some incredible stores, attractions, and events. There are over 150 specialty shops and souvenir stores, as well as boutiques, restaurants, eateries, and much more. It's one of the most beautiful outdoor commercial spaces in Miami, making it ideal for summertime. You can spend the day browsing through several stores, eating from one of the local food options, or just soak up some sunlight and enjoy the good vibes.  

It's also a unique shopping experience because it's mostly outdoors, so it feels like walking through a quaint village.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

If you haven't yet, the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is one place that definitely needs to be on your bucket list. It's an incredible location that's only a short drive from Miami itself. The park boasts an incredible beach and coastline, with crystal waters, white sands, and pleasant weather all through the summer months.

It's a great place to head to for a quick getaway, such as over the weekend, and there are accommodations nearby too. Many people enjoy camping out there overnight too. You can go fishing, explore historic locations, and check out other attractions, including wildlife there which are all really cool summer ideas.

Little Havana and Calle Ocho

Speaking of unique Summer ideas no trip to Miami is complete without a visit to the historic neighborhood, Little Havana, and its main attraction, Calle Ocho. The neighborhood is teeming with culture and history and offers some of the most incredible architecture too. You can head to local food businesses such as the many sandwich shops or stop at a local bar and enjoy an ice-cold rum and coke, and end the day with some delicious soft serve. There are different walking and bus tours that you can take, including food-focused tours, history and culture tours, and others that combine multiple attractions.

Jungle Island   

Jungle Island, also known as Parrot Island, is one of Miami's most wonderful hidden gems. Located on Watson Island, it's a stone's throw away from South Beach and Downtown Miami, making it pretty accessible. It's also a great place to travel with kids, given the number of attractions, shows, and performances that happen there on the daily. Enjoy a day-long trip to the island as you explore different animal species, watch birds, and just take in the scenery.  

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Last but not least of our Summer ideas is another wonderful place that you must visit during the summer months is the historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Summertime means the garden is in full bloom, and you're surrounded by gorgeous smelling flowers, amazing greenery, and some of the richest historical exhibits, sculptures, and displays. The venue often hosts events throughout the year, so you might be able to catch it on one of those occasions too.
