New mixed-use development set to bring 95 residential units and a UniVida Medical Center to the heart of Miami
UniCapital Asset Management Group officially broke ground on UniCapital Allapattah, a transformative development designed to enhance the Allapattah neighborhood by combining essential healthcare services with much-needed workforce housing. Founded by visionary entrepreneur Ivan Herrera, UniCapital launched the project as part of its ongoing mission to improve access to quality living and medical care across Miami-Dade County.
The groundbreaking event took place on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 1700 NW 33rd Street in Miami, with community leaders, elected officials, and development partners in attendance to commemorate the milestone.

A new model for community living
Located in the heart of one of Miami’s most historic neighborhoods, UniCapital Allapattah was designed to include 95 residential units—comprising 7 studios, 47 one-bedrooms, and 41 two-bedrooms—along with a 6,000-square-foot UniVida Medical Center and Wellness Center on the ground floor. The project also incorporated a structured parking garage to support both residents and visitors.
By integrating high-quality healthcare and wellness services with accessible housing, UniCapital aimed to create a holistic living environment that prioritized community well-being, convenience, and accessibility.
“Our mission has always been to serve our communities by creating access—whether it’s to quality healthcare, affordable insurance, or quality living,” said Ivan Herrera, CEO of UniCapital, UniVista Insurance, and UniVida Medical Centers. “This project continued that commitment and brought vital resources directly into the heart of Allapattah.”
A vision rooted in service and growth
The Allapattah development followed the successful groundbreaking of UniVida’s 60,000-square-foot headquarters near the Palmetto Expressway in July 2024, a facility expected to be completed in August 2025. Together, these projects formed part of UniCapital’s five-part development plan across Miami-Dade.
“This groundbreaking marked the second of five projects we had underway in the county,” said John Herrera, Chief Administrative Officer of UniVida Medical Centers. “Our goal was to create developments that not only addressed the critical need for housing but also delivered essential and quality medical services directly into the communities that needed them most.”
