Things to do on Miami Beach

Out of the many ways people love spending time in Florida, Miami Beach has increasingly become a favorite among many people. Considering the fact that beaches are low-maintenance fun altogether, you don’t have to prepare too much before heading to one. This statement holds a lot more weight when you’re thinking about things to do on Miami Beach.

The beach was incorporated back in 1915 and, overtime, has become one of the most visited spots in the state. The beach is surrounded by luxurious hotels, mind-blowing restaurants and endless strips of white beaches.

This means when you’re visiting Miami Beach, you’re not only going to enjoy the cool, vibrant water and the hot summer sun; you’ll also have several other places and activities to distract you when you’re done spending your time in the ocean.

Here are some of the best things to do on Miami Beach:

Joe’s Stone Crab

For well over 100 years, people have continued to visit Joe’s Stone Crab when they consider things to do on Miami Beach to crack open those piping hot crab claws. This joint started offering delicious crab meat before Miami was considered a city. Fast forward to more than 100 years later, Joe’s has become one of the famous spots in the city.

Interestingly enough, since Joe’s has been serving delicious food for such a long time, they were also the first restaurant in Miami to serve the Florida Stone Crab. That also means that no one in the city can make it better than them – however, crabs aren’t their only specialty!

If you aren’t a fan of seafood, you can also enjoy their famous fried chicken or their delicious sweet Key Lime Pie. Because of their popularity, you might have to wait till you can find a table but trust us – it will be worth it!

The Wolfsonian

Paper dolls of the First Lady and finger puppets of every world leader you can think of – finding these quirky items at The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami is sure to bring out the aspiring artist within you! The museum is a seven-story building that focuses on the persuasiveness of modern art and how powerful design can bring about change in a unique way.

If you aren’t interested in a guided tour of the museum by the staff, you can walk around on your own inside the premises. However, for people who do want a piece by piece introduction of every artifact inside the museum, a thorough tour is available every Friday evening.

Books & Books

One of the most interesting things to do in Miami is to explore different facets of the city. Built for bibliophiles who are looking for seclusion and peace after a wild day at the beach, Books and Books is the perfect place to visit. This spot is an independent book store that has all kinds of books. Be it a classic hardcover book, specialty magazine or a poetry book – there’s always something for everyone.

It’s located right down Lincoln Road, and it’s one spot you should definitely stop at when you’re driving around the beautiful City of Miami. There’s also an outdoor café where you can go through your purchases.
