Bringing services closer to the people

The new Coral Gables branch, located at 224 Minorca Avenue, is the seventh office opened under Fernandez’s leadership, reflecting his ongoing mission to expand accessibility and make government services more efficient for Miami-Dade County residents.

“It is an honor to be here today with all of you and celebrate this great moment for the residents of Coral Gables,” Fernandez said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “For the first time in the city’s history, residents no longer have to leave Coral Gables to pay their property or business taxes or to renew their driver license. This is my commitment to you: to make services efficient and accessible for all Miami-Dade residents.”

The Coral Gables Tax Collector’s Office features:

  • Six service windows to accommodate residents.
  • A state-of-the-art queuing system designed for maximum efficiency.
  • Full capacity to process all tax collector transactions, including:
  1. Driver's license and ID card processing.
  2. Vehicle registration renewal.
  3. License plate issuance.
  4. Special permits.
  5. Payment of property and business taxes.

Community leaders applaud historic milestone

The inauguration drew city leaders, residents, and staff in a celebration that reinforced the importance of this new chapter for Coral Gables. Mayor Vince Lago praised the collaborative effort, recognizing the value it brings to residents and businesses alike.

“This is an opportunity to serve at a greater level and to truly make a difference,” Lago said. “I want to give credit to our City of Coral Gables employees and to Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez and his staff members. The work you’ve done is inspiring change, not only in Coral Gables, but throughout Miami-Dade County. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.”

The new office not only provides convenience but also symbolizes Fernandez’s dedication to putting people first by ensuring that vital services are accessible, efficient, and community-focused.
