5 fun activities for little girls in Miami

Dabble in exciting family fun with these activities for little girls and most kids of all ages

Miami is home to a wide variety of kid-friendly museums, arts, entertainment, and attractions, so it shouldn't be hard to find something that little girls will enjoy. The finest family-friendly attractions in Miami involve activities for kids and adults alike. There is lots to do in Miami with little girls or kids in general, from exploring the city's top landmarks to taking day trips that bring them up-close with exotic wildlife.

Instead of taking your kids on a dreary tour of Miami or dragging them across the country to the mountains for a quick getaway, consider one of these unforgettable local experiences:

Zoo Miami

Kids will never say no to a trip to Zoo Miami. As the only subtropical zoo in the U.S., Zoo Miami is home to diverse animal species that are rarely displayed elsewhere in the country. Elephants, rhinoceroses, hippos, gorillas, vipers, crocodiles, and several other creatures dwell in this 750-acre zoo. Hop on the monorail to the exhibits, cool yourself off at the splash pad on warm days, and end the day with a spin on the carousel.

Seaquarium

Visit the Miami Seaquarium to swim with dolphins and seals, play with penguins, and explore touch pools full of aquatic animals. Your little girls or kids will get to see flamingos, turtles, manatees, seals, sea otters, and even a killer whale.

Sea Trek Reef Encounter features a tropical reef that is 300,000 gallons in size, and guests can walk through it while wearing an underwater helmet. There's a pirate-themed playground on dry land for those looking for adventure away from the waves.

Tigertail Lake Recreation Center

This adventurous destination on a lake near Miami is well worth the short travel. The place offers sailing, SCUBA, and lifeguarding classes in addition to renting out watersports equipment.

Feeling aquatic? Rent kayaks or paddleboards, and children especially enjoy the inflatable "Aquaglide" water obstacle course. There is a multi-tower ropes course at a height of 40 feet that will make you feel like you belong on American Ninja Warrior. It's great for parents since it's a one-stop destination for activities that are sure to wear the kids out.

Skatebird

Skatebird is a multipurpose space that includes a skate park that is 32,000 square feet in size and an outdoor plaza designed in the form of a traditional street. When the weather turns bad but you still want to get some bike time in, you can use the indoor pump track.

Skateboarders and rollerbladers of all skill levels will love this spot, and little girls on kick scooters will have plenty of room to practice their skills. Skateboarders who visit the park frequently can sign up for classes and camps, while regulars can purchase annual memberships.

Coconut Grove

CocoWalk in Coconut Grove, a Spanish-style outdoor retail mall, is a great place to grab a bite to eat, take in a movie, and cool off with some ice cream. Then, go over to Peacock Park, where little girls or kids in general may roam free on two different playsets as you take in the sights of the harbor, which is dotted with boats. They could also take the neighborhood trolley, which travels through the area.
