The Golden Eagle Awards 2022 celebrated those leaders who have fought for freedom and equality
The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) honored freedom fighters and those who stand for equality at their annual Golden Eagle Awards, 2022. The event took place early May at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables alongside a luncheon.
The Golden Eagle Award ceremony paid respects to and acknowledged the work of some important people in the community. Let’s learn more about it today.
What the Golden Eagle Award stands for
The award aims to honor key members of the community who stand for equality and freedom, which is represented by the eagle, while the gold in the award portion represents justice, power, strength, and perfection. It’s an incredible way to celebrate the heroes who make our community a better place, affording us many freedoms and privileges in the process.
This year’s award recipient was Chairman Diaz
Chairman Diaz is undeniably a pillar of the community who is always ready and willing to help the people around him with a smile on his face and grace in his demeanor. He is someone who works hard to protect his community and constituents, standing up for major causes that are important to him and the people around him. His dedication and perseverance is the reason why the SFLHCC decided to honor Vice Chairman of Miami Dade County, Jose “Pepe” Diaz.”
Chairman Diaz has been a role model, exemplary leader, and someone who has served Miami-Dade County for several decades. He has been voted the Leader of the Year by the Latin Builders Association, and remains one of the most committed public officials in the region.
It comes as no surprise that the SFLHCC would choose to bestow this honor and pay tribute to him, as they are equally committed to uplifting local heroes.
