Yasiel Puig and Presidente Supermarket spread their generosity

Yasiel Puig and his Wild Horse Foundation as well as Presidente Supermarket spread their generosity at the yearly New Year’s Day giveaway.

It is not an uncommon sight to see different athletes and organizations helping members of the Little Havana Community. What is uncommon is to see them doing it on New Year’s Day.

That is exactly what happened on New Year’s Day Calle Ocho. Yasiel Puig nicknamed The Wild Horse, who is a Cuban-born American professional baseball right fielder and has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Indians also has The Wild Horse Foundation that sponsors this event for the second year in a row alongside with Presidente Supermarket.

Yasiel Puig This year the event took place outside of the Cuba Ocho Museum where Yasiel Puig and Osvaldo Perez of President Supermarket handed out plates of food to people with scarce resources in the community. The faces on the recipients said it all. This time year is tough on many people and even though an act of kindness is always well received I would say that the timing of this gesture could not have been more precise. When everyone is out celebrating these people are serving others.

Yasiel Puig's Wild Horse Children's Foundation aims to inspire children and families in underserved communities by promoting healthier and better-quality lives through education, sports, community development, and health and wellness programs. This foundation strives to make an impact in economically disadvantaged communities by providing support in areas including, but not limited to youth sports, school resources and supplies for children as well as nutrition, health, and wellness matters.

Yasiel Puig who has a reputation for being intense in many ways on the field sure has a way of showing his sensitive side through his foundation he and his volunteers perform many acts of kindness. The Wild Horse Foundation has programs that rebuild sports and community facilities, it also partners with local schools.
