Miami Heat's Game 7 victory seals their spot in the NBA Finals, and the Florida Panthers have reached the Stanley Cup
The Florida Panthers have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in franchise history, while the Miami Heat have advanced to the NBA Finals for the seventh time.
They might win championships simultaneously, becoming the first NBA and NHL teams from the same market to do so. No market has ever experienced an NBA and NHL title together.
The Heat defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 on Monday night, and when the NBA Finals begin on Thursday, they will travel to the Denver Nuggets. The Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights will begin on Saturday after the Panthers' victory against the Hurricanes.
Miami Heat secures another win while Celtics miss out
Despite the Celtics winning three straight to force a decisive Game 7, Miami came through with the win. On Saturday, Derrick White of the Celtics kept Boston in the playoff hunt with a game-winning tip of the ball with 0.1 seconds remaining. The Heat swept the first three games of the series, with Game 3 being their largest margin of victory at 26 points.
The Heat's Finals opponent will be the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets will see their first trip in the Finals, while the Heat is making their sixth overall and first since the 2020–2021 lockout–shortened season.
