Cruise Capital of the World® continues to set records and raise the bar
PortMiami has once again earned global acclaim, winning Best Cruise Port by Global Traveler magazine for the third consecutive year. The award was announced during the magazine’s 13th Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards ceremony, held at the InterContinental Miami on May 22, and featured in the May issue of Global Traveler.
This prestigious honor solidifies PortMiami’s position as a global leader in cruise tourism and innovation, thanks to its world-class infrastructure, passenger experience, and commitment to sustainable growth.

A beacon of excellence and growth
“PortMiami continues to break records and uphold its status as the Cruise Capital of the World®,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “This recognition highlights PortMiami’s commitment to excellence in passenger experience, infrastructure and sustainability.”
Backed by strong public-private partnerships and strategic leadership, PortMiami welcomed an all-time record of 8.2 million cruise passengers in Fiscal Year 2024, marking a 12.79% increase over the prior year. The port also made history on February 8, 2025, hosting 10 cruise ships in a single day, and set a new record on March 30, 2025, with 72,008 passengers in one day.
Trusted by travelers, powered by partnerships
The award comes as a result of a comprehensive reader survey conducted by Global Traveler between September 2024 and January 2025. The open-ended questionnaire allowed travelers to vote for their favorite leisure destinations, experiences, and amenities.
“I am thankful to Global Traveler readers who voted for PortMiami for three consecutive years,” said Hydi Webb, PortMiami Director and CEO. “This win is a reflection of the hard work and vision of our entire team, the support of our cruise line partners, and the leadership of Mayor Levine Cava and the Board of County Commissioners.”
PortMiami remains not only a travel gateway but also a vital economic engine, contributing $61 billion annually to the local economy and supporting over 340,000 jobs throughout the region.
