Miami Beach Pride returns

Miami Beach Pride will feature rooftop movies, galas, parties, and much more

Miami Beach Pride is a two-week festival featuring all things LGBTQ+. Besides the pride parade and free weekend festival, this event features other fun events, including pool parties, pageants, and rooftop movies.

This celebration of everything LGBTQ+ festival started in 2009 to host 15,000 revels and is now frequented by 170,000 attendees making it the largest LGBTQ+ festival in the country. Here’s what this year’s festival entails.

Save the dates for Miami Beach Pride

Miami Beach pride will run from April 01 through April 16, 2023. The two-week festival starts with a pool party and culminates with a formal grand parade on the last day. There are plenty of gaythering and socializing opportunities that this event offers. Follow this event lineup:

April 01: Pool Party

The festival kick-starts on day one with a fun dip pool party at Clevelander Hotel. DJs Abel and Diane will blast the hotel on Ocean Drive with their beat till 6 pm.

April 03: Angel’s Dinner

Angel’s Dinner, hosted by Baia Beach Club, will start at 7 pm to serve Mediterranean cuisine with a panoramic view of the sunset over the skyline. The proceeds from the dinner are fun scholarships for LGBTQ+ youth.

April 04: Pride Pageant

Miss Miami Beach Pageant will take place at Exchange Miami, where drag queens compete in a revue. The nation’s ferocious drag queens are judged on Miami Beach Pride, swimwear, and talent. The doors to this pageant will open at 7 pm.

April 06: Movie Night

The Rooftop Cinema Club South Beach screens The Shiny Shrimps strike Back with OUTshine Film Festival.

April 07: Only Women Event

Garden of Eden, the women’s component of the festival, hosts an all-women event where ladies patronize Hotel Gaythering at 8 pm. The “Into the Wyld” event features DJ Zehno’s music.

April 08: Easter Family Picnic

The event offers family-friendly activities on Easter, including an egg hunt, Easter Bunny appearances, and a bounce house at Pride Park. Easter Family Picnic is open to the public for free from 10 am to 3 pm.

Drag queens

April 10: Queen Art Showcase

Queen Art Showcase is hosted by LGBTQ+ artists at Moxy South Beach Hotel. Attendees can support gay sculptors, poets, photographers, and painters by purchasing their original art.

April 14: VIP Beach Affair

The festival culminates in entertainment hosted by Sandra Bernhard, a legendary comedian, at VIP Beach Affair. Attendees can enjoy iChef’s food.

April 15 & 16: Pride Festival

The main festival takes place for two days with live music and multiple stages for DJs in Lummus Park. This year’s lineup includes Tony Moran, DJs Dan Slater, Josh Riptide, and Alex Ramos.

April 16: Pride Parade

The main event will be on the final day featuring the eagerly-awaited Miami Beach Pride Parade. The procession begins at noon with seating arrangements along Ocean Drive. The sidewalk cafes offer the best vantage point.
