With tons of mouth-watering trendy hot spots, empanadas, and croquetas at every corner, Miami well deserves a Michelin guide
People in South Florida have been left wondering for years which of the restaurants in Miami deserve a Michelin star. It was a dinnertime game for those who often dine out or visit restaurants frequently.
The need to speculate was eliminated when the Michelin guide eventually made its way to Florida in 2022 and gave stars to 15 eateries. The fact that 11 of those eateries are in Miami is not surprising for the locals, who know the city's capabilities.
Michelin did an excellent job compiling a list of several of our favorite establishments and locations that have long deserved recognition and deserve your time and money for your next dinner date.
How many restaurants got Michelin stars?
One Michelin star was awarded to an outstanding ten restaurants in Greater Miami & Miami Beach. And the Miami Design District's L'Atelier de Jol Robuchon was the only restaurant in Florida to achieve a two-star rating.

What determines the star ratings in the Michelin guide?
Five factors determine whether a chef will receive one, two, or three Michelin stars for their eateries: the quality of the product, the chef's skill with cooking techniques and flavors, the balance of flavors, how much of the chef's personality comes through in the food, and consistency in the menu over the time the chef has been running the restaurant.
