Little Havana’s Edukos has been feeling the impact of local construction. So much so that its new brunch menu is inspired by it. We stopped in to try out the menu — and support the restaurant, which tells us it has taken a major toll on the eatery.

For brunch, we tried out the vegetarian-friendly Breakfast Tacos filled with sofrito, scrambled eggs, black beans, and topped with cheese and guac. Pro tip: add some plantains, too, for that sweet-and-salty combo. Also delicious was the Steak and Cheese Arepa filled with steak, fried eggs, and quasi blanco; the Waffles and Berries; and the Venezuelan Brunch — a nod to the owner’s roots — with scrambled eggs, sofrito, queso blanco, black beans, and arepas.


And since it’s brunch it’s only appropriate to have a drink (or three). Edukos low abv cocktails are just right for day drinking and we tried the Maria Luisa made with prosecco, rosemary and thyme infused guava juice and lemon bitters; the Sparkling Sangria with rose, berries, OJ and lemon juice, and mango syrup; and the Summer Shandy with beer and lemon juice.

Your sparkling sangria.

4 blueberries
4 strawberry halves
1 oz. Of simple syrup
1/2 of orange juice
Combine in a glass of wine, Muddle Slowly, do not mash 🙂
Add 1/2 cup of ice
