Miami Dolphins trade their veteran wide receiver for two players from the New England Patriots
In another surprising decision by the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver DeVante Parker has been acquired by the New England Patriots for the upcoming season. The veteran receiver is expected to be a much-needed help for quarterback Mac Jones in hopes that the pair will propel the Patriots forward.
DeVante Parker has been invaluable to the Miami Dolphins, which has been the only team he’s played for in his 7-year long career.
Weighing 219 pounds and towering at 6 ft. 3 in., his size makes him the perfect fit for the role, while his agility, swiftness, and tactical intelligence on the field make him an excellent athlete. This is exactly what the New England Patriots desperately need if they want to make it to the Super Bowl.
The Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is lucky to have gotten Parker on board, given that he fits their requirements, budget, and Belichick himself knows the wide receiver well. After all, he’s shown some incredible performance stats in his games against the Patriots over the years.
While many may be critical of this move, it’s important to remember that sports teams require movement and change in structure to stay on top of their game. The Dolphins have, admittedly, seen a lot of change over the past few months, including saying goodbye to their previous coach Brian Flores and welcoming Mike McDaniel in his place. However, they will receive a 2023 third-round pick and a 2022 fifth-round pick in exchange for DeVante Parker.
Fans and sports experts are hopeful that the Dolphins will pull through under new leadership and management and the new additions to the team are mutually beneficial.
