Celebrate Miami Farmers Month in the heart of South Dade

Discover the bountiful charm of South Dade's farming community as we dive into the second annual Miami-Dade Farmers Month celebration!

Miami-Dade County, known for its vibrant city life and breathtaking beaches, is also home to a hidden gem that lies just an hour's drive south of the bustling metropolis. South Dade, a picturesque countryside area, stretches from Pinecrest to the Redland, Homestead, and Florida City and even grazes the edges of the Everglades. This region serves as the nurturing heart of Miami's farming community, offering acres of lychee groves, exotic fruit and vegetable farms, and local produce stands. If that's not enough to pique your interest, how about sipping locally-produced wines made from passion fruit, carambola, guava, avocado, and mango at Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery?

This year, Miami Farmer’s Month celebrates the city as not only an economic hub but also as a culinary delight.

Miami Farmers Month: South Dade's agrarian xtravaganza

Miami-Dade Farmers Month, an annual celebration organized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, is back, and it's all about South Dade. From November 1-30, 2023, the region comes alive with special deals and unique experiences at its farms and related businesses. Visitors have the opportunity to explore popular attractions like Fruit & Spice Park and the iconic Knaus Berry Farm, where delectable cinnamon rolls are a must-try. For a sweet slice of Miami's countryside, make a pit stop at Robert Is Here, a fruit stand that's been a Homestead fixture since 1959. Try their milkshakes, made from tropical fruits like mamey and dragon fruit, and let your taste buds embark on an adventure during Farmers Month.

Say 'I Do' in South Dade's enchanting gardens

South Dade's charm extends beyond its farms. With beautiful wedding venues featuring manicured gardens, rustic barns, charming cottages, and waterfront vistas, couples can turn their special day into a fairytale. The Thalatta Estate offers a picturesque waterfront event venue with Cuban-tiled floors and a grand staircase. For a rustic wedding amid lush lychee trees, Hacienda Los Robles provides a whimsical 4,200 square-foot air-conditioned barn. If you're dreaming of a fairytale wedding, The Cooper Estate and the Historic Walton House have incredible outdoor spaces, waterfalls, and luscious ponds to set the perfect stage.
