Brightline opens a new train route to Orlando and tickets are now on sale

Tickets are available for purchase, but the Brightline routes to Orlando won’t open till Labor Day weekend

Brightline has started selling tickets for its newest train route, connecting two of Florida's most popular cities: Miami and Orlando. However, you won't be able to take the train to Orlando's theme parks till fall arrives.

Last month, the completed Orlando station for the high-speed rail system was unveiled at Orlando International Airport. Read on for everything you need to know about buying a train ticket to the newly built Orlando station:

Where and when to buy tickets

Train tickets to Orlando can be bought during September and January. The Orlando intercity train routes are expected to be completed in time for the Labor Day weekend, according to officials. You can get one-way or round-trip tickets from the South Florida stations to Orlando International Airport by visiting gobrightline.com or through the app.

Brightline is encouraging guests to sign up for their emails so they can stay updated on when tickets for the summer go on sale. This has led some to speculate that the first journey between Orlando and South Florida might occur earlier than Labor Day.

About the new station in Orlando

The brand-new station occupies 37,350 square feet within the expanded rail terminal at Orlando International Airport. The trains' boarding and disembarking locations are close to Terminal C. Terminals A and B, as well as Parking Garage C, are within easy walking distance from the station.

The Orlando station will also provide the company's Brightline+ last-mile transit choices. Passengers can take shuttles, Uber, or hire a vehicle.
