As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday this coming July 4th, we are reminded that our nation’s greatness was built on freedom, democracy, and the power of the people to choose their leaders through voting.
There is no better way to honor our Founding Fathers and their extraordinary vision for this country than by registering to vote and actively participating in our elections. The right to vote is one of the most precious freedoms Americans possess. Generations of patriots have fought to protect it, and it remains the foundation of our democracy today.
Voting is not simply a civic duty. It is a tribute to the principles upon which our nation was founded. It is how we preserve the freedoms and opportunities that make the United States the greatest country on earth. And the way we maintain and strengthen our great nation is by ensuring our voices are heard at the ballot box.
This year, Miami-Dade County voters will once again have an important opportunity to shape the future of our community and our country during the 2026 election cycle. The Primary Election will be held on August 18, followed by the General Election on November 3.
I encourage every eligible resident who is not yet registered to vote to do so today. The last day to register to vote and participate in the Primary Election is July 20.
Democracy works best when citizens stay informed, engaged, and committed to voting regularly — not just during presidential elections, but in every election.
So, as we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let us also celebrate the democratic ideals that unite us as Americans.
Let’s vote, Miami-Dade. And let’s vote, America!

Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections
