Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami will unravel “Le Corsaire” the enchanting story of sultans and pirates at Miami Dade County Auditorium
Poetry, princesses, and pirates will take the stage at Miami Dade County Auditorium on June 11, Saturday. The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM), committed to powering the passion for music and ballet in Miami, is returning this time with a collection of iconic performances known as “Le Corsaire”.
CCBM has played a huge role in promoting the local arts and music community of Miami. Along with bringing ballet performances to Miami theatres, it also offers ballet classes to adults seeking to hone their dancing skills.
Where poetry meets ballet
"Le Corsaire" Suite, a CCBM production, will be one of the most extraordinary musical performances ever seen on stage. With a libretto based on Lord Byron's poem The Corsair, this is an enchanting story of Sultans, maidens, princesses, and pirates.
Ballet maestro Joseph Mazilier initially choreographed the dance to Adolphe Adam's iconic composition. In 1856, the Académie Royale de Musique performed it for the first time.
About the performances
This time round, performances are going to be extra special. CCBM will present extracts from the artistically and musically fascinating ballets of the 19th century in this legendary performance.
Audiences will get to see some of the most iconic and performed movements in classical ballet. This includes the scene Le Jardin Animé, the Grand Pas de Trois des Odalisques, Pas d'Esclave, and the renowned "Le Corsaire Pas de Deux".
This is only a preview of what the ballet will feature. Head to the CCBM website or the Miami Dade County Auditorium website to get your tickets before they run out!
