OZ Oguzhan Akgun has been serving Miami since 2013 with his transportation business
OZ Oguzhan Akgün is the founder and owner of Limo Miami, a luxury transportation company known for creating exquisite customer experiences. OZ grew up in the hubbub of the hospitality sector. With his father managing a hotel in Turkey, he’s a second generation in the sector providing his services to the city of Miami.
We got to talk to him about his journey to know what distinguishes him in the industry. Read to learn all about the man behind Limo Miami.
What led to the founding of Limo Miami?
Born in Turkey and raised in Miami, OZ Oguzhan Akgun inherited his love for hospitality from his dad, who worked as a hotel manager in Turkey. He says, “I kind of grew up in the hospitality industry.” After graduating from Johnson & Wales North Miami in hospitality administration/management, he came to Miami.
He worked at the Setai Hotel, one of the high-end hotels in Miami, as a front desk agent, where he received Forbes luxury training. That’s where he observed the state of the transportation sector. His observation led to the realization that most people in transportation don’t come from the hospitality sector.
He wanted to bridge this gap between the hospitality and transportation sectors by combining all luxury training with transportation to provide an experience to remember for his clients.
Limo Miami was incepted in 2013 with a different name. He changed the name to Limo Miami to show his commitment to supporting transportation in the city. Earlier, the business focused on fulfilling transportation requests from Los Angeles and New York but later decided to limit its focus to Miami. In his words, he wants to “take good care of Miami.” Hence, the change of name.
What distinguishable services does Limo Miami offer?
OZ Oguzhan Akgun reiterated his commitment to luxury transportation, something which other ride-sharing apps don’t offer. They have a wide-ranging fleet of mini buses, SUVs, exotic SUVs, sprinters, and coaches, along with chauffeur services for airport and group transportation.
The business works with individuals and corporations looking to ensure comfortable and high-end transportation for their executives and employees. He explained that his clientele isn’t limited to Miami only. He also caters to the needs of businesses from other states visiting Miami for official purposes.
While ride-sharing apps offer availability, they cannot promise consistent luxury service; he told Calle Ocho News. “We are not only focusing on being available. We focus on being available with luxury!” He added.
Limo Miami’s chauffeur services can assist those arriving at the airport. The chauffeur, fluent in English, and Spanish takes care of baggage claims. They’re trained to have information on the city so that clients can travel with peace of mind.
Oz applies his hospitality training on etiquette to the drivers and chauffeurs. The drivers don’t ask if they can carry the client’s luggage. Instead, they say, “Would you allow me to assist with your luggage?” he explained. To him, creating a luxurious experience begins at the onset of the service.
Limo Miami also offers transportation services to locals and tourists looking for luxurious rides to tourist sites, picnic spots, birthday parties, and corporate events for a worry- and hassle-free time.
That’s not the end of it. He also told Calle Ocho News about event coordinator services for corporate clients from other states. They cater to groups as large as 1,000 people to help them onboard. That’s why clients from other states make up 80% of their entire clientele.
How do you make services affordable for clients?
He ranks Limo Miami’s service prices 7 out of 10, explaining that while there are other uber-expensive transportation services, their focus is on balancing luxury with cost. Working with 32 people and a 24-strong fleet allows him to manage the business well.
Limo Miami is a virtual business with no physical office. This virtual setup limits their cost while allowing them to offer quality services at relatively better rates than their competitors.
OZ Oguzhan Akgun is an active member of GMCVB, a Vice President of Sponsorships at GBTA, and a member of GBTA Global. Other accreditations to his name include membership of the Global Business Travel Association SFCA, NBAA, SFBAA, MPI South Florida, and MPI Global. Being part of these local and global associations allows him to combine hospitality features with his limo transportation business.
Clients can book transportation via website, email, or over the phone, whichever is convenient for them. He has high hopes for the future and hopes to continue serving the community.
