Travel essentials you didn’t know you needed for the 2022 holiday season

Enjoy your vacation by keeping your travel essentials with you at all times

It’s nearly the holiday season! The perfect time for many travelers to start preparing to hop on a flight and celebrate the holidays with family back home.

Your calendar might be sorted, but is your luggage packed with travel essentials?

Right, the dreaded packing. There’s always something you’re leaving behind, almost something that doesn’t fit, or something you must not forget!

So, this time before jetting off to your destination, pack a few travel essentials to save yourself the hassle.

Packing cubes

Didn’t consider them? Well, you must. Rather than stuffing your travel bag with things, be more organized to save space. Our recommendation? Packing cubes.

Most of the time, clothes take up most of our bag space. This is where packing cubes come in. Before putting anything in your bag, go over the clothing items. Choose comfy, neutral clothes that you can layer easily, regardless of the weather. Once done, organize and squish similar items into a cube.

A portable charger

No matter where your destination is, a portable charger is a must-have. With a portable charger in your bag, you’ll be saved from the dreaded occasion of a dead phone. After all, you’ll need your phone to find directions, look up addresses, take photos, check your flight information, and hail a taxi.

A universal plug adapter

Don’t let your trip become a nightmare, especially if you’ll be visiting different countries. Keeping a different plug adapter for every socket can be quite a hassle! That’s why you need to have a universal plug adapter on you that’ll ensure all your devices are charged, no matter where you are.

A money belt

Perhaps this wouldn’t be an accessory that’ll suit your outfit but wearing a money belt will keep your valuables safe with you. Everything will be in one place, from your passport and money to travel documents and cards. It also means you won’t have to rummage in your luggage to find your essential items.

Reusable water bottle

Take water with you wherever you go. Rather than buying plastic bottles that almost always end up in landfills or oceans, choose a more sustainable option. Carry a reusable bottle with you. Your hotel, airport, and other public spaces will have safe and clean drinking water you can fill your bottle with.

Sunscreen and sunglasses

Never ever forget your sunscreen and sunglasses! These travel essentials save you from the damaging ultraviolet rays that can cause skin cancer. Even if it's the winter season, you'll still need to slather on your sunscreen to stay safe from the sun's rays. Plus, with your favorite sunglasses, you’ll also be making a fashion statement.

Headphones

You do need a good pair of headphones when traveling. They’ll help you pass the time by letting you listen to your favorite albums and podcasts whenever you want. If you’re traveling for a long time, that’ll come in handy with the travel essentials you really need.

Medication

You don’t want to be in a foreign place searching for a pharmacy. Keep your prescription medication with you at all times. Ensure you have a first-aid kit with you too. It’s also a good practice to keep your pills in their original bottles in with your name and doctor’s name on it, just to be safe.
