Exercise Your Power to Protect Through Vaccination

Care Resource is Offering Both No-Cost COVID-19 Vaccinations and $100 Raffles on January 8

Family Vaccination Event with Free Vaccinations and Raffles

On Saturday, January 8, from 9:00am - 1:00pm, 2022, Care Resource is hosting a family COVID-19 vaccinations event at their health center in Little Havana located on 1901 S.W. 1st Street.  Care Resource has several locations throughout Miami Dade and Broward and so community family events are nothing new for them. They are actually well known for hosting them before Covid, so lots of happy faces are both invited and expected.

The vaccination and giveaway will begin at 9 AM and go on for 4 hours of socializing for a good cause. The family vaccination event will definitely be putting smiles on the faces of many. In addition to fun giveaway items, the health center is holding hourly $100 raffles for community members that receive either a COVID-19 test or vaccine.

The health center is currently administering Pfizer (5+ and up), and Moderna, (18+ and up). 3rd dose booster shots are also available to all those that qualify.

“This family vaccination event at our health center in Little Havana on January 8 is an opportunity for community members to further increase their resilience and help ensure that everybody is safe if we are to recover better together. COVID-19 continues to highlight how interdependent we all are and how reliant we are on cooperation and compassion to successfully defeat the virus.

Jonathan Welsh, Associate Director of Communications and Development with Care Resource

The CDC’s new recommendations now allow “mix and match” dosing for booster shots. Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. This allows you to obtain a different COVID-19 vaccine type than you originally obtained.

Newly eligible individuals who receive a booster shot will benefit from additional protection against COVID-19. Current studies show that all the COVID-19 vaccines approved or authorized in the United States continue to be highly effective in reducing the risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death, even against variants.

Care Resource is offering booster shots to eligible individuals by walk-in and appointment at any of their health centers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. A doctor’s note, prescription or proof of medical condition is not required.

Welsh also stated that, “This Saturday’s pop-up vaccination event in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood gives everyone who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, including South Florida’s youngest residents, a chance to get their shot of protection against the virus. Even at this phase of the pandemic, where many look forward to brighter days ahead, it’s vital that we remain vigilant about vaccinations.”

Care Resource is committed to providing the COVID-19 vaccine to as many members of our communities as possible as quickly and safely as possible. May this effort help lead toward that long-awaited moment of joining back together, safely and joyfully.

The family vaccination event couldn’t have come at a better time. These days it seems like once one restriction is lifted another variant comes our way. Having health centers like Care Resource host events that engage the community is both essential and critical because Covid and all of its variants do not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
