Susan G. Komen® MORE THAN PINK Walk mobilizes support for breast cancer research and more

MORE THAN PINK WALK event at Amelia Earhart Park aims to raise critical funds and awareness for breast cancer health equity initiatives

On October 14, 2023, in a bid to combat breast cancer and promote health equity, Susan G. Komen®, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale will host the yearly MORE THAN PINK Walk at Amelia Earhart Park. This event not only unites the community but also serves as a vital fundraising platform. It bolsters nationwide health equity drives, contributes to groundbreaking research, supports breast cancer patients, and advocates for legislative changes at the federal and state levels.

Advancing health equity amidst Miami's diverse landscape

Breast cancer is a prevalent health concern, and it has a significant impact on Hispanic women in the United States. Among this demographic, it stands as the primary reason for cancer-related fatalities. In recognition of this, the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Susan G. Komen® MORE THAN PINK Walk holds particular significance. The Miami/Ft. Lauderdale region boasts one of the biggest Latinx populations in the US, making it essential to address disparities in breast health-related concerns.

The 2023 Susan G. Komen® MORE THAN PINK Walk is a momentous occasion where the community comes together to share laughter, stories, and tears. It's a time to celebrate survivors and those bravely living with breast cancer while honoring loved ones who have succumbed to the disease.
