South Florida honors women who inspire, lead & transform their communities

A celebration of women leaders who are transforming Miami-Dade during a powerful afternoon of recognition, leadership, and celebration at The Biltmore Hotel

There’s something special about a Miami event that brings together strength, culture, and community all under one roof, especially when that roof belongs to The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. On Friday, December 5, 2025, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) hosted its annual Women Empowering and Embracing Women Awards Luncheon, turning a beloved Miami tradition into a sold-out celebration of leadership. More than 200 business and civic leaders gathered to honor the incredible women shaping South Florida’s future, from Little Havana to Brickell and beyond.

A dynamic panel on leadership and Miami’s future

The afternoon kicked off with a compelling panel discussion, “Leadership at the Gateway: How MIA Shapes Miami-Dade’s Future.” Moderated by Univision Miami’s Eileen Cardet, the conversation spotlighted the essential role of Miami International Airport in the region’s economic and cultural identity. Panelists included Vice Mayor of North Miami Daniela Jean, Miami-Dade Aviation Assistant Director Ana Finol, and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Roberto J. Gonzalez—each offering insight into how mobility, innovation, and strategic planning will keep Miami moving forward.

Guests were also treated to an inspiring keynote from Gonzalo Garcia, Artistic Director of Miami City Ballet, who shared his personal journey of leadership, creativity, and resilience.
