In light of the pandemic, fans of swimwear and resort clothing watched the show live. It streamed via Procolombia’s Instagram account @colombianfashiontrends. It was also live on Paraiso’s website.

After the event, a media reception was hosted by Stitch Lab. Stitch Lab is an online luxury retailer for Colombian fashion. Silvia Cobos and Jetlagmode provided accessories like shoes and bags. These designers use handmade techniques that are sustainable for the environment.

The event aimed to promote business opportunities for Colombian brands in U.S. fashion. Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, creative director of Paraiso Miami Beach, expressed this goal.

“Destination Colombia is one of Paraiso Miami Beach's leading initiatives for creating new business opportunities for the Colombian brands in the U.S. market and it opens a window to a brand new way of connecting these brands with both media and industry audience.”

Colombian fashion is innovative and high-quality. Many designers develop quality clothing using raw materials from the country. Thus, the Colombian fashion industry built its own identity.

“Colombia has become one of the most fertile and dynamic territories on a global level for swimwear and beachwear experimentation: that’s why we decided, together with Paraiso Miami Beach, to present the most innovative Colombian brands to buyers and the national press through this multifaceted fashion initiative and an experience, Destination Colombia.”

Such success is uncommon for countries that produce textiles and clothing to achieve. That’s why it is so important that Colombian designs get to the U.S. industry.
