Shelter pets had a day of fun and networking with people at Santorini by Georgios on December 9
The pets at Miami-Dade County Animal Services had an awesome day with the cast of Magic Mike Live: The Tour on December 9. The Pawventure volunteer program will started at noon and went on until 4 p.m.
The cast of Magic Mike had a fun time with the shelter pets, where they got to participate in a Q&A where they were asked a list of questions like what pet best matches their personality and what they’ll do in the afternoon.
After the Q&A session, the cast members will have a little tour with their pet matches on South Beach.
Bronwyn Stanford, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Director, was enthusiastic about the whole Pawventure. He said it was thrilling to partner with Magic Mike Live’s cast as it would give the pets a day of excitement and help them find new homes.
He commented that this is an incredible opportunity where the community can hang out with the shelter’s dogs, take photos, and perhaps adopt them.
Pawventure and Magic Mike?
The pawsome program is hosted by Animal Services and offers the community a chance to spend time with a shelter pet for a day, weekend, or week.
The participants at Pawventure are encouraged to take photos and videos of the pet they’ve chosen to hang out with so the initiative can be spread on social media.
Magic Mike’s Executive Producer, Vincent Marini, commented that they couldn’t have thought of a better way and city to host the show’s first stop. He mentioned that they’d be collaborating with local organizations and charities in Miami to impact the community positively. The team at Magic Mike is very excited about the adventure that awaits them all on December 9, and they’re hoping that the shelter pups can find their forever homes with their help.
How can people volunteer?
Residents can head to the Pet Adoption and Protection Center any day of the week after 10 am and select a pet to spend time with. The pets need to be returned by 5 pm so they can get ready for their dinner.
Participants must bring their valid Florida ID.
