Miami Heat had their fans on edge during Game 4 as they went against the Knicks
Miami Heat's 109-101 win during Game 4 featured all the right plays: a stellar performance from Jimmy Butler, a surge from the bench for the Heat, and clutch shooting down the stretch. With three games remaining, Miami has a good shot of clinching a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Here's what went down during Game 4 on Monday night at Kaseya Center:
The Miami Heat seized every opportunity
In the first quarter, the New York Knicks held two one-point leads for a total of 33 seconds. Both times, the Miami Heat responded with quick baskets to even the score.
Though Miami led by double digits for the majority of the game's last three quarters, this one was close for the most part. Strus's 3-pointer with 3 minutes 23 seconds left in the first half gave Miami its first 10-point advantage, but New York always responded.
Barrett's 3-pointer with 7:07 remaining in the third quarter helped the Knicks cut into an 11-point hole, and they went as close as 67-65 before falling short. Late in the third, Miami went on an 8-1 run over the course of two minutes to regain their 11-point advantage, and they entered the final quarter leading 90-81.
Notable players who turned the game around
Jimmy Butler scored 27 points and dished out 10 assists to lead Miami. Bam Adebayo, on the other hand, was the game's MVP for the Heat. After a strong first half in which he scored 16 points, Bam Adebayo went on to finish with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists — his finest offensive performance of the playoffs.
The Heat have a chance to win the series if they can win Game 5 on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT in New York. The Heat won't host another game for almost two weeks if Miami wins Game 5.
