Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez reminds residents that paying early means saving big — and supporting essential community services across Miami-Dade
As the 2025 property tax season begins, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office is sending an important message to residents: pay your property tax early and save the max. With nearly one million tax bills mailed out this week, Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez and his team are encouraging everyone to take advantage of early payment discounts that can put real money back in residents’ hands.
If you pay your property taxes in November, you’ll receive a 4% discount. Payments made in December save 3%, in January save 2%, and in February save 1%. After March 31, 2026, bills become delinquent, and no discounts apply.

Why paying property taxes early pays off
“This operation represents months of preparation and coordination,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, who personally oversaw the mailing of more than 959,000 tax bills from the Presort Center, Inc. facility. “Our goal is to make the process efficient, transparent, and easy for everyone. Paying early helps you save money while helping us serve the community more effectively.”
Under Fernandez’s leadership, the Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office has modernized services to make early payment simple and stress-free. Residents can now pay securely online at mdctaxcollector.gov or in person at any of the 10 convenient office locations throughout the county — from Downtown Miami and Kendall to Coral Gables and Hialeah Gardens.

A modern approach to public service
Beyond convenience, early payments help Miami-Dade fund vital community needs — including schools, fire departments, and police services. The department’s innovations have already saved taxpayers over $6 million, returned $40 million to local communities, and distributed more than $9.6 billion to essential services.
Fernandez’s team continues to raise the bar with 11 new offices, self-service kiosks for registration renewals, and even Saturday hours — including a monthly day designed for the neurodivergent community. These initiatives show how efficiency and compassion can go hand in hand.
So, if you want to SAVE THE MAX, pay early, skip the stress, and know your dollars are making a difference right here in Miami-Dade.
