The address marked the beginning of a new tradition by inviting the public inside Elections Headquarters to see firsthand how voting systems are prepared, tested, and secured. During the presentation, the office shared key data from the past year, including the successful administration of 16 municipal elections and one Police Benevolent Association election, with 157,022 ballots processed.

Voter registration across Miami-Dade County also continued to grow, reaching 1.63 million registered voters, with more than 37,000 new registrants added. These figures reflect broader regional trends emphasizing civic participation and reinforce the importance of maintaining public trust through open reporting and clear communication.

Preparing for the 2026 election cycle

The State of Elections Address also highlighted the extensive preparation required behind every election, from equipment testing and poll worker training to layered security measures. A live demonstration of new voting equipment underscored the office’s continued investment in modernization and election security—key priorities as South Florida prepares for future election cycles.

Supervisor Garcia also unveiled the 2025 Annual Report, which documents voter registration and turnout trends, community outreach initiatives, and technological improvements. The report serves as both a public record and a planning foundation as the county looks ahead to the 2026 Election Cycle, reinforcing a commitment to innovation and service.
