Meet the 4 Couples Behind the 4 Places you Should Check Out on Calle Ocho this Valentine’s Day

Celebrate Valentine's Day with local specials from 4 couple-owned businesses on Miami’s famous Calle Ocho

Valentine’s Day in Miami

Miami is home to an incredibly diverse, thriving business community that includes some of the coolest, most inspirational couple-owned ventures and businesses. This year, we're bringing you some Valentine's Day local specials from these businesses and sharing more about each of them and their special offerings this year.

Take a look at the faces behind some of Calle Ocho’s most famous businesses.  Everyday thousands of tourists flock to the section of Calle Ocho known as “The Strip” to visit these locations. For us locals these businesses are right in our own backyard so don’t take them for granted.

I think we can all agree that supporting small business and the culture they represent is even more important after Covid.  I invite you to the part of town known as Calle Ocho.  I guarantee you will have a unique and fun time in this part of Miami with these wonderful businesses being run by some of the most elegant, classy, and powerful couples in the city:

If you or your loved one loves all things Little Havana then run here and get them the official Little Havana Book for a discounted price of $35 dollars. It will go great on any coffee table in your home with its clean and fresh modern black and white façade. They also have some great products that you can shop for this Valentine's Day while also supporting a family-owned business. Check out their Instagram page @thehavanacollection for more information.

One of Miami's most popular bars, club, or restaurant because you can call it all 3 is the Ball & Chain which has been around for centuries. Located at 1513 SW 8 ST. The history behind this place dates back to when Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Louise Armstrong played there. The Ball and Chain is offering an incredible Bachata Class every Tuesday at 9 p.m. They have more details on their Instagram page @ballandchainmia, and website, and it's the perfect chance to enjoy a passionate, fun activity with your boo!

Cuba Ocho Museum and Performing Arts Center is located at 1465 SW 8 ST. Miami, FL 33135. The things to see and experience at this place are too many to name.  I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly but there is something sexy and mysterious about this place that draws me in everytime.  Whether it’s the 1.3 Million dollar painting of La Rumba in the back or their famous Wednesday Salsa classes you are sure to have a great time at Cuba Ocho.  Just recently Yeney Ramos launched Cigarella.  Every Thursday Night the ladies get together for an evening of networking, socializing, and smoking cigars. Because who says cigars are just for men is the motto?! Every Thursday Cuba Ocho gives women in their cigar club an exclusive night to socialize and network at the gallery. Visit their website or Instagram page @cubaocho for more information.
