Local Artists Come Together at the Umbrellas of Little Havana Art Festival

Are you an art lover? Do you want to be delighted with a showcase of art under a magnificent patio umbrella? Keep reading, because the Umbrellas of Little Havana Art Festival (ULH) offers this year more amazing local art, and guess what? It’s during the world-famous Art Basel in Miami. 

The 9th Annual Umbrellas of Little Havana is almost ready to go, and the organizers are committed to enhancing this exciting free outdoor activity far beyond previous years! Keep in mind, this is not a traditional art festival, it’s a collaborative environment among musicians, authors, and performers. ULH was established in 2013 and it has grown to 40 artists now showcasing their art.

Participating artists include Carlos Reyna, Catalina Correa, Idialis Chaparro, Liliana Rangel, Oscar Esteban Martinez and many more. “This year’s event we have two artists coming from Colombia, our children's corner, author's corner, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind will showcase their umbrella and art as they do every year”, said the event coordinator Pati Vargas. 

The Umbrellas of Little Havana Art Festival 2021 will take place December 3, 4 and 5 from 10-5 pm. Each artist will have 10x10 foot booths and all of them outside of The Futurama 1637 Art Building on SW 8ST. 

This iconic art festival features a display of hand-painted patio umbrellas where visitors will have the opportunity to view and buy an artwork.

The sponsors of the event are GMCVB - Art of Black Miami, Commissioner Higgins, Calle Ocho News, Havana Collection, Azucar Ice Cream, Jensen's, Brickell Kid's Bus Company, Blick Art Miami.

Due to the success of previous events, organizers are already planning their 10th anniversary focusing on stretching a couple of blocks east because many artists can't participate this year due to lack of space.

Don’t miss this opportunity it’s a perfect time to embrace and receive the last month of the year. And don’t worry about safety protocols regarding COVID 19; the organizers will have the same layout as 2019 protecting artists and visitors under the guidelines.
