A journey through time with Marilyn Monroe

One of the largest Marilyn Monroe exhibitions in West Miami-Dade will open on Friday, November 3, 2017.

This charity event will benefit an international organization working to end injustices against women. Marilyn is known for her breathtaking beauty, acting talent, and her powerful Hollywood persona that challenged women’s cultural norms in the 1950s. Frames USA & Art will host a photographic interpretation of her life from 1926 to 1962. These photographs will be available for purchase with the option of ordering custom framing. The event will also include a talk about her life.

Despite Marilyn Monroe’s beauty and fame, she had insecurities and struggles highly attributed to a troublesome past. As an infant, Marilyn, who had never met her father, was abandoned by a mother that was in and out of psychiatric institutions. She lived in an orphanage and several foster homes where she was allegedly sexually abused. To learn more about her past, Frames USA invited Marilyn Monroe expert, Diane Schiller, to share anecdotes and other intriguing facts about the woman behind the smile. Diane’s talk will start at 8PM on Opening Night.

For this exhibition, Frames USA & Art Gallery has also partnered with Footprints Foundation, an international charity, based in Miami, Florida. This 501c charity supports the end of female genital mutilation, child marriages, and the rights of women to give birth without risking their lives. The president of the Foundation will briefly speak on these issues and Footprint’s mission.
