Miami-Dade Tax Collector expands services with new office, inclusive initiatives, and Saturday hours
The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector is in the process of assuming control of one of South Florida’s busiest and largest driver license offices from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Formerly known as the Mall of the Americas DMV, this office will now be the Midway Crossings Tax Collector's Office and is on track to become the fourth branch under the leadership of the Honorable Dariel Fernandez.
As part of this transition, the office has undergone significant technological upgrades, introducing a safer, faster, and more efficient computerized system designed to streamline services and reduce transaction times for residents.
Once fully integrated as a Tax Collector's branch, this office will also be equipped to process a full range of tax collector services, including property and business tax payments, vehicle registrations, specialty parking permits, and fishing and hunting licenses.
The inauguration of this fourth office is scheduled to take place in late May. For more details, visit mdctaxcollector.gov.

Making government services more inclusive
Every third Saturday of the month, the Downtown Miami Office will dedicate the day to serving neurodivergent individuals who need driver licenses or identification cards.
This initiative, launched in collaboration with Commissioner Raquel Regalado and Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, aims to break down barriers and ensure that individuals on the spectrum have equitable access to essential government services.
On these days, individuals will receive preferential service and expedited processing in a welcoming, sensory-considerate environment designed to meet their unique needs. This program reflects our commitment to inclusion, dignity, and respect for all members of our community.
Location: Tax Collector Downtown Miami 200 N.W. 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33128
Next Neuro-Inclusive Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025
We now open Saturdays
