The Miami Downtown Development Authority brings back its beloved Holiday Lighting event with music, markets, and magic for the whole family
Downtown Miami is ready to shine once again as the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) kicks off the holiday season with its Third Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration on Friday, November 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. The city’s historic Flagler Street will glow brighter than ever with a 24-foot Christmas tree, thousands of twinkling lights, and a colorful Miami-inspired holiday display that celebrates the spirit of the season right in the heart of downtown.

Music, magic, and a Miami holiday vibe
The evening begins with opening remarks from District 4 Commissioner and Miami DDA Chairman Ralph “Rafael” Rosado, District 2 Commissioner Damian Pardo, and Miami DDA CEO Christina Crespi, followed by a free live performance by the Miami Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eduardo Marturet, joined by talented students from the New World School of the Arts. Guests can grab first-come seating or stroll Flagler Street as they enjoy the dazzling display and the sounds of holiday classics echoing through the city.
Adding to the festive ambiance, the holiday market will feature local vendors, handcrafted gifts, and seasonal treats — the perfect way to shop small and support Miami businesses. From artisan goods to mouthwatering bites from nearby restaurants, this celebration captures the cultural heartbeat of downtown.
Family fun, community spirit, and seasonal surprises
The family zone ensures fun for all ages, with face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, a bounce house, and a special visit from Santa Claus himself. Guests are also encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support Chapman Partnership’s toy drive, spreading joy to children in need across the Miami community.
The celebration doesn’t stop there — the Holiday Village on Flagler returns with Sunday pop-ups on December 7, 14, and 21, featuring crafts, photo ops with festive characters, and live entertainment. On December 14, the DDA will host a Menorah Lighting to honor Hanukkah, and the season wraps up with the 1One New Year’s Day Block Party on January 1, ringing in 2026 with true Miami flair.
Downtown Miami’s holiday celebrations are more than lights — they’re about unity, joy, and the vibrant culture that defines our city.
