On the evening of September 29, 2023, Care Resource's 40th Anniversary celebration took place at 3510 Biscayne Boulevard, and was abuzz with celebration, marking its 40th year of unwavering service to the community. The event was highlighted by the unveiling of "The Light Remains" memorial, a poignant tribute to those we've lost to the HIV/AIDS crisis, the recent COVID-19 pandemic, and other life challenges. This memorial not only stands as a testament to the memories of the departed but also as a beacon of support for the ongoing and expanding services of Care Resource.
Charting a Legacy of Healing and Hope
The evening's attendees were also introduced to a meticulously curated historical timeline, capturing the pivotal moments and milestones that have defined Care Resource's journey since its inception in 1983. Rick Siclari, the Chief Executive Officer, reflected, “From its early days as a ray of hope during challenging times to now, Care Resource has consistently stood as a sanctuary of healing, embracing everyone irrespective of their HIV status, ethnicity, faith, sexual identity, gender, or financial capabilities.”
In a heartfelt gesture, City of Miami Commissioner Sabina Covo, representing the City of Miami, declared September 29 as Care Resource Day, acknowledging the health center's profound contributions to South Florida's well-being. Care Resource's 40th anniversary celebration culminated with a special screening of a documentary, tracing the center's evolution from its roots as an HIV/AIDS service entity in the 1980s to its present stature as a premier Federally Qualified Health Center.
