40 years of excellence in healthcare

Care Resource Community Health Centers, Inc. began as a Health Crisis Network (HCN) in 1983. HCN used to respond to HIV/AIDS crisis but has since transformed itself into a federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The community center is located in the four locations of Miami-Dade County, namely Little Havana, Midtown Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.

Care Resource responds to community needs by making life-changing patient care accessible to everyone over the years. The organization has also expanded its medical specialties and continues to do so by investing in cutting-edge technology and better infrastructure to make community healthcare a top priority.

They have grown their service portfolio to include dental services, pediatric services, primary medical care, case management, behavioral health and other support services.

Healthcare for underserved communities

The Florida Association of Community Health Centers shared numbers and figures about Care Resource’s past services. In 2021, the nonprofit made 74,600 rounds of visits to provide services to 16,800 unduplicated patients. 88.8% of these patients were 200% below the poverty line in terms of income levels.

Two-thirds of these patients were either not registered in Medicaid or had no insurance. In addition to that, Care Resource also created 844 jobs in Care Resource health centers and across the communities and neighborhoods where it’s located. Its care centers also created 278 indirect jobs due to the activity generated by its staff and health centers.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the CEO of Care Resource, Rick Siclari, expressed his gratitude to its volunteers and staff. Brimming with joy, he highlighted that while their health center has grown and evolved, what hasn’t changed is their competence, commitment and compassion. This commitment to providing ultimate care is what has sustained Care Resource for 40 years.
