Before Thursday's Game 3 in the series, relive some of the best moments from Games 1 and 2.
Panthers pull struggling Bobrovsky
When the dust settled after Saturday's opening game of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final, the Vegas Golden Knights were grinning, and the Florida Panthers were fuming. The Golden Knights assured Florida that the Panthers' aggressive play wouldn't faze them, and Florida likewise guaranteed that they wouldn't soften their approach.
On Monday, during Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, Florida Panthers goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky was removed from the game midway after giving up four goals on 13 shots to the Vegas Golden Knights. It was the first time in this playoffs that the 13-year veteran had let in four goals in a pair of games. He also gave up four runs in each of the final two outings of the regular season.
Knights lead with record-breaking performances
The NHL's red-hot playoff goalkeeper was forced from the net early on thanks to a blitz of goals scored by Jonathan Marchessault. Adin Hill also kept up his spectacular performance as the Vegas Golden Knights took a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Florida Panthers with a 7-2 win on Monday night.
Hill made 29 stops, while Marchessault chipped in with an assist as each player finished with a point. After the first round, he scored 12 goals to set a franchise record for the Golden Knights in the playoffs.
In the post-expansion era of the Stanley Cup Final, teams who gain a 2-0 series lead are 31-3. With Thursday's Game 3 in Sunrise, Florida, the Panthers will get their first chance to attempt and change the course of history.
