The police are still working to find leads on the suspect and events leading to the tragic shooting
On Tuesday, a woman was shot and killed in front of her six young kids in northeast Miami-Dade, and eyewitnesses are now describing the awful events that unfolded. At around 3:45 p.m., officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department responded to a gunshot at Northeast 159th Street and Sixth Avenue, near Oak Grove Park.

About the horrific incident
The event occurred in the Oak Grove Park neighborhood, on Northeast 159th Street, just before 3 p.m.The mother, later confirmed to be 33-year-old Jeretha Lawson, was involved in an altercation with another group while in a car, according to Miami-Dade Police Department spokeswoman Angel Rodriguez.
Rodriguez claims that a passenger in the other vehicle drew a revolver and fired at Lawson, causing her to lose control of her vehicle and smash into two others. The crash was audible, according to witness Eustace Norris. Lawson was pronounced dead on the spot.
None of her seven to seventeen-year-old kids were wounded in the shooting or the car crash. There were three cars involved in the accident, and the video evidence showed a silver sedan, a white sedan, and a black SUV.
Police are still investigating the motive and suspect
Police said the shooter had already left the site by the time they arrived. They're trying to track down other people involved in the dispute and talk to them. Nonetheless, the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unknown. The shooter's identity has not been released by police. They say it's unclear if the suspect drove away or escaped on foot.
