The teen encourages others to watch out
The teen told the club community that he first thought he, Mohammed Hamza Ahmed, was a “cool teacher.” However, Ahmed later asked him not to talk about any of this with his parents. He allowed him to skip classes so the student could stay in his office.
He shared a picture of him and other students eating food in Ahmed’s office. According to the teenage boy, everything was normal until Ahmed started getting more comfortable. He told the court about his obsessive behavior where Ahmed would contact him when he wasn’t around in school.
He would send uncomfortable messages like “I love you.”The teen shared text messages with the detectives. Ahmed wrote,“Let me know what that doctor says, love you,” with a heart emoji when the boy missed school because he was sick.
The teacher also bought him gifts. Ahmed’s cell phone backdrop included a selfie of him with the boy, which was also strange for the teen. He said that he was saddened to find out Ahmed liked him because he thought he was a cool teacher.
He also made sexual and secret romantic propositions to the boy, according to the detectives.
Brave boy urging others to tell everything to their parents
The boy told his mom when Ahmed went from calling him a “brother” to making sexual propositions. Other students also found out and bullied him at school. “I had to tell my mom,” said the boy.
His parents reported Ahmed, and the principal removed Ahmed from school due to an ongoing investigation. The judge ordered the teacher to stay away from the student. According to the records, Ahmed was facing several felonies, including a second-degree felony of engaging in sexual contact, a first-degree felony of witness party tampering, and a third-degree felony of child abuse with no bodily harm.
The boy urged others to be careful and wary of whom they trust and always share such stuff with their parents. Miami-Dade detectives request anyone with more information about the victims or the case at 305-471-8477.
