Daddy Yankee’s latest song is the official anthem for the World Baseball Classic tournament 2023
Baseball has always been a passion for Daddy Yankee, even before he became a pioneer in the Latin music genre. The singer's official position as World Baseball Classic Global Ambassador is an opportunity for him to combine these two worlds of music and baseball.
Major League Baseball revealed that Daddy Yankee, or Ramón Luis Ayala Rodriguez, always wanted to play third base in the big leagues. However, an accident he suffered as a teen forced him to abandon this goal in favor of a successful music career.
About the World Baseball Classic
Twenty of the greatest baseball teams from across the world compete annually in the World Baseball Classic, an international competition that has been going strong since 2006. In 2017, the United States took home its first World Baseball Classic trophy, with Puerto Rico finishing in second place.
Daddy Yankee's 'La ltima Vuelta World Tour' was the second-largest tour ever by a Hispanic artist, and this honor only adds to the singer's growing accolades. In addition to throwing the first pitch for the game between Venezuela and Puerto Rico on March 12, the Puerto Rican singer is expected to attend several games at LoanDepot Park in Miami throughout the tournament.
Daddy Yankee’s anthem for the sports tournament
The song "Chispa" by Daddy Yankee has been selected as the official anthem for the World Baseball Classic and will be played throughout all WBC and MLB-related social media posts, in-park events, and TV broadcasts worldwide. The song was supposed to be on Daddy Yankee's most recent album, "LEGENDADDY"; however, it was eventually scrapped. Despite that, you can expect to hear this song at many MLB events in the near future.
