The much-awaited Florida primary elections are coming up, and the mail-in ballots will be a little different this year
The Florida primary elections on August 23rd will decide which candidates will be on the general election ballot in November. This includes US Senate and House seats, state Senate and House, governor, and other local and state offices.
As of 2022, any voter who asks for a mail-in ballot in the primaries will also receive one in the general election. Previously, voters had to request a mail-in ballot for every election.
Take the time to prepare for the Florida Primary elections with these tips:
How You Can Register to Vote in Florida
Voters can request a mail-in ballot by mail, email, phone, fax, or in person by August 13th. You can also register online or by calling or visiting your county supervisor of elections. You'll have to provide your full name, date of birth, address, and a copy of a valid form of identification like a driver's license, state-issued ID card, or the last four digits of your SSN (Social Security number).
If you need to make any changes to your party affiliation, make sure you do that before the deadline. The deadline for mail, in-person, and online registrations is Monday, July 25th.
Early Voting Information
Each county has a different early voting period, however all counties allow voters to cast their ballots in person starting August 13th through August 20th. Find out when and where to vote in your county by contacting your county's elections supervisor.
The primary election is on August 23rd. You can cast your vote at your nearest polling location any day of the week between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Remember that you need to be registered with a political party to vote. You can still cast a nonpartisan vote if you aren't registered, but it will not involve partisan races.
