Miami community comes together for a fun but meaningful event to raise funds for first-responders.
There’s no denying the harrowing impacts of the pandemic on frontline workers, including first responders. Jobs like these often leave professionals vulnerable to a host of stressors and mental health concerns, with many going on to develop conditions like PTSD.
Unfortunately, there isn’t enough support nor enough resources to help them cope with these challenges. That’s why Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Pinecrest & Metro Dade Fire Fighters Local 1403 are coming together to host Dancing Like the Stars, a fundraiser aimed at raising funds to help first responders with PTSD.
What is the event going to be like?
Dancing Like the Stars Pinecrest Event features some incredible performances by community leaders, including local public figures, as they pair up with their professional partners for the ultimate show of trust. The event will feature some dance performances choreographed by the participants, and a panel of Professional Dance Judges will then evaluate them.
The event’s winner will receive a fancy mirror ball trophy to commemorate the occasion. It’s a wonderful effort to support frontline workers who’ve been dealing with the immeasurable trauma and pressure that comes with their work, and in memory of the people, we’ve lost.

We’re incredibly excited to see all these people come together for such a heartfelt and meaningful cause and support other public officials and frontline workers in the process.
Who can attend the event?
The event will be held on the 15th of January, 2022, at 3:00 pm and has a run time of 90 minutes. The event is ticketed, including for infants. All ages are welcome, and there are several different ticketing brackets, including a $5 ticket for ages 13-22.
It’s a pretty inclusive event, giving everyone a little something to look forward to when it comes to entertainment.
However, please note that they will not allow outside food or beverages into the theatre, meaning you’ll have to make alternate arrangements such as eating before or after the event.
How will the event factor in the COVID surge?
The event has been ticketed and organized for maximum safety in keeping with social distancing guidelines. People not within the same ticket purchase are required to sit 3 ft. apart; masks are mandatory for all visitors and employees regardless of what their vaccination status is, except when seated and/or consuming food or beverages.
We recommend adhering to these guidelines for your safety and protection, given that there has been a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases with the new variant.
