You can now get tested at the Salvation Army in Little Havana and the Ronald L Book Athletic Stadium which now has Covid 19 testing sites
Miami-Dade County, has added two additional walk-up Covid 19 testing sites in the county. Both locations will facilitate nasal swab testing for anyone who is age 12 or older with or without symptoms. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to be tested.
While appointments are not required, the County suggests that residents wishing to be tested make an appointment prior to going to get tested. People with appointments will be prioritized for testing.
The first testing site is located at the Salvation Army in Little Havana. The address is 911 W. Flagler Street. This site opened on August 18, and it is a walk-up testing site that can accommodate up to 1,000 tests daily. The second testing site is at the Ronald L. Book Athletic Stadium, also known as the North Miami Stadium. The address is 2555 NE 151st Street in North Miami. This testing site opened on Thursday, August 20.
Both testing sites will be open on Mondays until Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Anyone who gets tested can expect to receive their results through e-mail or text messages. However, there has been an increase in the amount of testing being done, so results may take longer to be produced.
The opening of these testing sites comes in an effort to increase the monitoring of COVID-19 throughout Miami-Dade County. Residents, businesses, and families have faced much hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Covid 19 testing sites will increase the awareness of people with the virus and allow them to take proper precautions to protect themselves and the people around them.
