A look into how La Familia Pawn shop is giving back to essential workers
To support the essential workers, local pawn shop La Familia Pawn and Jewelry is giving back. Their new campaign, the Salute Our Heroes Campaign, gives healthcare workers, teachers, and grocery store employees interest-free loans as well as 30 percent off—also known as the shop’s employee discount—to any worker who shows their badge.
Essential workers have been the backbone of the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical experts have helped our loved ones in need, teachers have adjusted to virtual instruction, and grocery store employees have provided us the necessary essentials to keep our families healthy. There are also other first responders who have kept Miami safe and healthy.
Regional Manager of La Familia Pawn Shop, Jose Guerrero, says they are doing this campaign in an effort to give something special to the first responders who have kept the city going during the Coronavirus outbreak.
“We have many retail clients from Jackson Hospital, Miami Dade teachers, bus drivers, etc.,” said Guerrero.
“We wanted to show them how much we appreciate what they have done so we extended our employee discount to them. We also decided that in case anyone who was deemed an essential worker needed some extra cash we would drop our interest rates down for them.”
Guerrero added that fantastic deals are the pawn shop’s specialty but adding the 30 percent discount will give the essential workers even better deals. This is La Familia Pawn and Jewelry’s way of showing a little appreciation for their beloved Miami.
“We hope this will bring a smile to our clients, friends and family and help them through the current situations we are facing,” said Guerrero.
