Armed carjacking in Miami Gardens takes an ugly turn after ending in an officer-involved crash
Police recently arrested 3 people concerning an armed carjacking in Miami that took a drastic, dangerous turn. The carjacking led to a chase that resulted in a crash with an officer and suspects being detained by law enforcement.
The carjacking was a highly chaotic event that led to several terrible outcomes, including a terrible crash.
Details about the incident
On Sunday afternoon, four individuals broke into a white Hyundai SUV, owned by a local woman, along 1200 block at Park Centre Boulevard. The driver was forced out of her vehicle at gunpoint, following which the subjects left the scene in it.
After reporting it to the police, a car chase between the suspects and police ended as the Hyundai crashed into a nearby black Mitsubishi, hitting a police cruiser on its front. The crash took place at 3:30 pm, close to Northwest 184th Street and 24th Avenue.
Following the crash, the involved individuals then evaded the police on foot but were eventually tracked down thanks to a thorough search lasting hours. Neighbors and residents were made to wait behind the yellow tape, and while there were some injuries reported, none required hospitalization.
Three out of four suspects were detained by Sunday night, one remains at large, and other details are unclear.
