15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Lunch & “Men Wear Pink” Fashion Show unites Miami’s community in strength and style

Miami leaders take the runway—and the fight against breast cancer—to new heights

When Miami comes together, it does it with heart—and plenty of flair. That spirit was on full display at the 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Lunch & Panel Discussion, hosted by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Presented by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the event blended science, hope, and Miami charm in a moving afternoon of empowerment, education, and unity.

A fashion show with purpose and pink power

One of the most talked-about moments of the afternoon was the “Men Wear Pink” Fashion Show, a lively partnership with the American Cancer Society. Miami’s community leaders, including police chiefs, directors, and top executives, traded their suits for pink attire, proudly strutting the runway as 2025 Miami Ambassadors.

The energy in the room reflected what Miami does best: standing together for a cause that touches countless families. The show wasn’t just about clothes, it was about courage, awareness, and solidarity. Each stride symbolized support for the women and men who continue to face breast cancer with strength and grace.

Experts, survivors, and supporters share knowledge and hope

Beyond the pink runway, guests were inspired by a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Emmy-winning journalist María Fernanda López, anchor at Univision 23. The panel featured distinguished medical experts, including Dr. Susan Kesmodel, Dr. Eva Suarez, Rodrigo Arrangoiz, Nicole A. Marriott, Lisa Lorenzo, and Shirley Sastre Souto, who shared insights on prevention, treatment, and survivorship.

Their message was clear: early detection saves lives, and community education is key. Proceeds from the event, supported by generous community sponsors, will continue fueling breast cancer research and awareness across South Florida—from Little Havana to Coral Gables and beyond.
