The new and stylish NHL All-Star Game jerseys are a retro style throwback

The NHL All-Star Game uniforms just got a vintage yet modern update!

The 2023 NHL All-Star Game will have a distinct South Florida flavor thanks to its location in sunny Miami and the newest uniform update. The NHL finally revealed the new uniforms during Edmonton Oilers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning U.S. national coverage after news got leaked too soon.

The design mixes a classic look for the All-Star Event uniforms with colors representative of the South Florida region. The game will be held on February 4 at FLA Live Arena, on Florida Panthers home ground.

About the new retro-themed jerseys

Adidas and the NHL are reviving the jerseys from the 1994–1997 All-Star Game era as part of the Reverse Retro 2.0 concept that was introduced earlier this season. The logos and striping on these throwback clothes may look familiar, but some colors have been updated in classic Reverse Retro style to give them a modern feel.

Boston Bruins' David Pastrnak, a fan-voted selection to the NHL All-Star Game, got his first look at the game's official jerseys on Thursday and was approved. The updated jerseys are a nod to South Florida in the mid-90s, with electric blues and pinks that mimic the stunning sunsets of South Beach.

What you’ll see in the next All-Star Game

The Florida Panthers' home rink, FLA Live Arena, in Sunrise, Florida, will host the NHL All-Star Game and All-Star Skills Competition on February 3 and 4. This year's game will have a 3-on-3 tournament between 11-man squads, each of which represents one of the league's four divisions.

There are two basic jerseys, but there are also alternate dark and white versions for each conference. This is in case the West faces the West, or the East faces the East in the All-Star tournament final.

We haven’t seen separate East and West markings on the All-Star team shirts since 2009. The NHL emblem on the chest will be orange and black, just like the original logo, to keep with the throwback theme.
