Experience the pulse of culture and community from July 25-28, 2025 at the Miami Takeover
Presented in collaboration with the Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau and the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority, this signature event series is set to make waves in Miami Beach.
The vibrant essence of Black culture is returning to Miami Beach this summer with the 17th Annual Miami Takeover (MTO), happening July 25–28, 2025. Powered by three HBCU-educated visionaries—Wylie Kynard, Antwoine McCoy, and Vincent Peden—MTO offers an electrifying weekend celebrating Black excellence through music, art, nightlife, and service.
As an official event of the Art of Black Miami series, MTO is also proudly supported by the Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority (MBVCA).This year's event lineup includes a mix of community engagement, cultural immersion, and entertainment, climaxing in the Art of Go-Go Culture Fest, marking 50 years of Go-Go music. Held at the historic Miami Beach Bandshell, this main event brings a fusion of D.C.'s soulful rhythm and Miami's coastal energy to life.

Celebrating community and cultural heritage
More than a party, the Miami Takeover is a celebration of roots and connections. The founders have deep ties to both Washington, D.C. and Miami, and the event mirrors that dual heritage. From the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures community dental event to the Beach Sweep cleanup, Miami Takeover fosters real impact beyond the dancefloor.
Their collaboration with the Miami Beach Black Advisory Board underscores MTO’s ongoing mission to uplift the Black World Community across Miami-Dade County. As Wylie Kynard expressed, the guiding ethos stems from Florida A&M University: Excellence with Caring.
