The Miami Bayside Foundation just wrapped up another successful round of small business training where many are walking away with resources galore
The Miami Bayside Foundation (MBF) just finished another successful run of their popular Small Business Training (SBT) sponsored by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), which aims to educate and empower minority as well as women entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The Small Business Training is one of the most successful training sessions run by the organization and aims to improve reach and accessibility.
More details about the small business training
The program is designed to provide these entrepreneurs with the many skills to expand their businesses and take them to new heights. It’s offered thrice a year in English and twice in Spanish to help them adopt better policies and decisions for their businesses and create a plan that will increase their profitability, reach, and more.
Each time, the program runs for five weeks comprising fourteen sessions. Participants receive two hours of training and discussion per session, led by an expert in the respective field. They cover major business management and growth aspects, including financial literacy, digital marketing, credit for business, sales, insurance coverage and premiums, certification, legal processes, and technological literacy.
The biggest benefits of the program
Participants are also familiarized with different stakeholders and collaborators such as SCORE Miami-Dade, The SBDC at FIU, Axis Helps, and the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department. Each of these organizations has a major hand in enabling these business owners to scale up and grow.
It’s an excellent opportunity to network and grow together as business owners meet, interact, and build a network of advisors and collaborators. Each session makes time before, during, and after the lesson for the participants to mingle and network. The lecturers and presenters act as valuable knowledge banks and business advisors for these ventures, creating a mentorship opportunity.
The GMCVB has been assisting in bringing this resource to many entrepreneurs in Miami-Dade for the past 5 years. It not only demonstrates their commitment to our community as a whole but to thriving entrepreneurs and specifically small businesses.
