Top experts gather to discuss AI's transformative impact across industries at prestigious event moderated by Univision’s Eileen Cardet

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) celebrated a major success with its Annual Artificial Intelligence Symposium, bringing together business leaders, healthcare innovators, educators, and tech experts for an inspiring and informative event. Held under the banner “Smart Moves: The Power and Challenges of AI in Business, Health, Hospitality & Education,” the symposium spotlighted how artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping South Florida’s economic and social landscape.

With Emmy Award-winning Univision 23 anchor Eileen Cardet as moderator, the panel featured a dynamic lineup of leaders in academia, medicine, and digital technology. They offered real-world insights into the promises and pitfalls of AI—from its role in precision medicine and digital education to its impact on data security and workplace automation.

Unpacking AI's impact across South Florida's key sectors

The “Smart Moves” panel served as the highlight of the SFLHCC symposium, uniting some of the region’s most prominent voices in AI innovation. Panelists emphasized the opportunities that AI offers businesses to streamline operations, personalize customer experiences, and stay competitive in the face of digital transformation.

In healthcare, discussions centered on AI’s potential to diagnose disease earlier, develop targeted treatments, and increase access to care through telemedicine. Panelists also explored the intersection of AI and education, sharing how adaptive learning tools are helping bridge gaps and customize instruction for students of all backgrounds.

Hospitality leaders underscored AI’s growing importance in enhancing guest experiences, automating routine services, and predicting travel trends—ushering in a new era of smart tourism in South Florida.

Honoring health champions making a lasting difference

In a heartfelt close to the event, the SFLHCC presented its prestigious Health Champion Awards to twelve individuals recognized for their exceptional contributions to community wellness. These honorees, representing fields such as public health, fitness, and medical innovation, were celebrated for advancing healthier lifestyles and expanding access to vital health resources across the region.

Their recognition symbolizes the SFLHCC's belief that technological advancement must go hand-in-hand with a strong, healthy community—an ethos that drives SFLHCC’s broader mission through its Business Technology Committee. This committee plays a pivotal role in educating and empowering its members to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
